Internationalisation models for digital start-ups in the Baltic Sea Region

Time: 16:30-17:30 Tuesday 8 November

Venue: Riddarsalen

The seminar will deepen the discussion on the potential of connecting digital start-up environments to boost a connected digital eco-system in a region known for being cutting edge in digital development.

The workshop will build on the main session Connecting for a Digital Market in the Baltic Sea Region (15:00-16:20) focusing on the role of the cities as hubs. At the intersection of globalisation, digitalisation and urbanisation, cities play a crucial role in generating growth, promoting the information economy and establishing a digital single market. The “State of the Digital Region report 2016” from ICT think tank “Top of Digital Europe” will be launched at Main session 1, providing the main inspiration for the discussion.
The workshop will focus on connecting different environments for digital start-ups & entrepreneurs supporting and connecting digital ecosystems within the Baltic Sea region.

The main purpose is to allow three different regional projects with scale up potential to cover the entire Baltic Sea region, to pitch their idea of pan Baltic activities.

The idea holder will enter a Lions Cage in the form of a panel of key stakeholders from government, ICT business and digital entrepreneurs. The panel will, based on their key interest and skills, ask questions to identify/evaluate the potential of the concept being pitched.
